Unity game development with AI

Unity is the most popular engine for indie and mobile games, and AI can now do much of the C# work for you: player controllers, enemies, UI, save systems and even complete games. This guide explains how to get reliable Unity code from AI and how to apply it safely to a real project.

What AI can do in a Unity project

AI is very good at the repetitive parts of Unity development: MonoBehaviour scripts, ScriptableObject data, UI wiring, state machines, object pools and editor tools. With the right context it can also build a whole small game: scenes, menus, HUD, levels and win or lose screens.

What it cannot see on its own is your project. That is why Topvon Project Link reads your project folder first, so new code matches your existing scripts, namespaces and Unity version.

Ask for code the right way

Name the Unity version and render pipeline, the input system you use (old Input Manager or the new Input System), and whether the game is 2D or 3D. Describe behaviour, not just names: "an enemy that patrols between two points, chases the player inside 6 units and returns when it loses sight" gives far better code than "enemy AI script".

using UnityEngine;

// Simple 2D player movement for Unity 6 (in Unity 2022 use body.velocity instead of linearVelocity)
[RequireComponent(typeof(Rigidbody2D))]
public class PlayerMove : MonoBehaviour
{
    [SerializeField] float speed = 6f;
    [SerializeField] float jumpForce = 12f;
    Rigidbody2D body;

    void Awake() => body = GetComponent<Rigidbody2D>();

    void Update()
    {
        float x = Input.GetAxisRaw("Horizontal");
        body.linearVelocity = new Vector2(x * speed, body.linearVelocity.y);
        if (Input.GetButtonDown("Jump") && Mathf.Abs(body.linearVelocity.y) < 0.01f)
            body.AddForce(Vector2.up * jumpForce, ForceMode2D.Impulse);
    }
}

Apply changes safely with Project Link

Open your project folder in Chrome or Edge, describe the feature, and review every change as a diff before it is written. Every changed file is backed up first, so one click undoes the change. When Unity shows errors, paste the Console output and the fix goes into the exact file and line.

Best practices

Keep scripts small and focused, prefer serialized fields over hard-coded values so designers can tune them in the Inspector, and use physics in FixedUpdate when you move rigidbodies with forces. Ask the AI to explain any script you do not understand: reading code is the fastest way to learn Unity.

Questions people ask

Can AI write Unity C# scripts that compile?

Yes. Topvon writes complete scripts and checks them for missing references; with Project Link it sees your existing code so names and namespaces match.

Can AI build a whole Unity game?

Yes, for small and medium games: menus, levels, HUD and win and lose screens inside your project. Large games are best built feature by feature.

Does it work with the new Input System?

Yes. Mention it in your request and the code uses the Input System instead of the old Input Manager.

Is my project uploaded anywhere?

Project Link reads the files you allow in your browser and only sends the relevant code with your request.
